Location: Washington DC Area (primarily Springfield & Falls Church Virginia) + part time remote

Job Summary

Seeking a highly motivated and strong Program/Product Manager to lead a team of skilled Software Engineers, DevSecOps Engineers, and Cybersecurity Engineers responsible for delivering quality products to a government program.

Job Description

  • Responsible for planning, prioritizing, executing, and maintaining programs and projects per customer requirements.
  • Define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for platform development, aligning with the customer’s strategic objectives and the mission.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape, and incorporate these insights into the product strategy and roadmap.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, seeking feedback from customers and stakeholders to enhance the platform and drive customer satisfaction.
  • Accountable for program/product schedules, milestones, deliverables, and budget.
  • Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring that features and enhancements are delivered on time, within budget, and with high quality.
  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution.
  • Monitor progress and rapidly adjust as needed.
  • Facilitate and guide teams and projects across multi-functional platforms to ensure cohesiveness.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Program/Product Manager, successfully delivering software products, with specific experience in government programs.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering, DevSecOps, and data platforms.
  • Strong experience with agile development methodology.
  • Familiarity with government cybersecurity regulations, requirements, and compliance frameworks, such as DIACAP, RMF, and STIGs.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced Agile/Scrum environment, with the ability to adapt product management approaches based on project needs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in program/product management methodologies and tools, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members towards project success.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and brief customers on a technical and non-technical level.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on high-performing teams.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) for GitOps is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Education Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in strong leadership roles with a B.S. in Program Management, IT Business, Computer Science, or a related field; or 15+ years of experience without a degree.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Product Manager (CPM) or Agile Certified Product Manager (ACPM) are a plus.

Salary Range:

  • $156,000 – $243,000
